Local girl Aoise O’Goan who attends Bunscoil Mhuire Agus Phadraig, the Irish section of Our Lady and St Patrick Primary School in Downpatrick, County Down was the winner in a recent children’s competition to raise awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO).

The competition's prime goal is to raise awareness of CO, the ‘silent’ killer through any form of art or medium of communication including posters, poems and videos.

The prize for winning, was a fun filled family trip to London for the day with a visit to the Shrek Adventure attraction. They then got to attend the awards ceremony at Westminster, where Aoise recited her winning poem.  Aoise received a trophy and cheque for £150 and a cheque for £250 for her school.

SGN Natural Gas was keen to reward the local girl for her achievement and  presented her and her family with tickets for Disney on Ice at the SSE Arena in Belfast.
