    The SGN Natural Gas network is a major energy infrastructure project to extend natural gas to approximately 40,000 homes and businesses in the west of Northern Ireland.  This significant gas network extension will bring the very considerable benefits of natural gas to the towns of Artigarvan, Coalisland, Cookstown, Derrylin, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Magherafelt, Omagh and Strabane.

    As a major infrastructure project, SGN Natural Gas will require a diverse, robust supply chain.  SGN Natural Gas has developed relationships with a network of local suppliers who can provide quality goods, works and services across Northern Ireland.  Opportunities to tender from SGN Natural Gas will be posted below when available.

    FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT FOR SGN NATURAL GAS WARM AT HOME SCHEMES

    Contract summary
     
    SGN Natural Gas is submitting a bid for funding from the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP) 2022-23.  If successful, we plan to run two schemes to convert low-income households to natural gas central heating, also offering the householder fully funded loft insulation, cavity wall insulation and energy efficiency measures:

    o   Loft and cavity wall insulation
    o   LED light bulbs
    o   Draught Proofing 
    o   Hot Water Tank Jacket
    o   Water Widget 
    o   Remote Smart Heating Controls
     
    SGN Natural Gas have received funding from NISEP to deliver energy efficiency schemes for the last three years.  By the end of March 2021, over 500 properties will have benefitted from NISEP grant funding.  SGN Natural Gas are looking to appoint a contractor to deliver these schemes and build upon our success to date.

    Warm at Home Plus
    SGN Natural Gas’ Warm at Home Plus scheme offers households that are readily connectable across our network area the chance to convert to a free fully funded natural gas heating system. This is a whole house solution offering natural gas heating, loft and cavity wall insulation, and additional energy efficiency measures.

    To qualify for this scheme householders must be able to demonstrate they live within the SGN Natural Gas licensed network area, are readily connectable, an owner occupier with solid fuel heating, no central heating, or an old inefficient or broken oil, or LPG boiler.  Eligibility for a new natural gas heating system is based on the existing heating system being at least 15 years old or broken beyond viable economic repair.

    Households who are owner occupiers must meet an income criteria of:

    •           Single person household with an income/pension up to £28,000 gross.

    •           Couple or single parent family with an income/pension of up to £35,000 gross.     

    Warm at home Cashback        

    SGN Natural Gas’ Warm at Home Cashback scheme offers households that are readily connectable across our network area the chance to convert to a partially funded natural gas heating system. This is a whole house solution offering natural gas heating, loft and cavity wall insulation, and additional energy efficiency measures.

    To qualify for this scheme householders must be able to demonstrate they live within the SGN Natural Gas licensed network area, are readily connectable, an owner occupier or a private renting tenant with solid fuel heating, no central heating, or an old inefficient or broken oil, or LPG boiler.  Eligibility for a new natural gas heating system is based on the existing heating system being at least 15 years old or broken beyond viable economic repair.

    Households who are a private renting tenant or owner occupier must meet an income criteria of:

    •           Single person household with an income/pension less than £35,000 gross.

    •           Couple or single parent family with an income/pension less than £40,000 gross.

    SGN Natural Gas distribution network, covering Artigarvan, Coalisland, Cookstown, Derrylin, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Magherafelt, Omagh and Strabane.
     
    Framework Agreement Term
    The contract term will be up to one year with the potential to extend for two years in increments of a one-year contract extension, dependent on performance of contract, and approval of further funds.
