• Connecting homes and businesses to natural gas in the west of Northern Ireland

    SGN Natural Gas is delivering natural gas mains and meters to approximately 40,000 customers during our project lifetime in Artigarvan, Coalisland, Cookstown, Derrylin, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Magherafelt, Omagh and Strabane. You can view the network route in our interactive map below.
    It is our goal to decrease fuel poverty in our network area whilst enabling consumers to reduce their carbon footprint by converting from oil to natural gas. By enabling businesses to drive efficiency savings, we can potentially help them to be more competitive in local and global markets.

    November 2015

    Construction of the SGN Natural Gas network commences.

    January 2017

    Natural gas reaches LacPatrick Dairies.

    August 2017

    Intermediate pressure contractors appointed.

    August 2017

    First natural gas domestic connection in the SGN Natural Gas network

    September 2017

    New natural gas training and assessment facility announced for South West College.

    November 2017

    £15million investment to date confirmed in Strabane.

    December 2017

    Successfully crossed the River Mourne, ensuring natural gas is available throughout Strabane.

    April 2018

    Distribution construction phase commences throughout the rest of the SGN Natural Gas network (Including towns in Counties Derry, Tyrone and Fermanagh).

    August 2018

    Hugely successful NISEP scheme delivered in Strabane.

    January 2019

    SGN Natural Gas avoids significant road closures by drilling under A31 Magherafelt Road.

    March 2019

    Enniskillen town centre construction work completed 10 weeks ahead of schedule.
