Mr. O’Malley explained that the relocation of the project team to the new office, offered more direct access to the eight key towns in the SGN Natural Gas network area within the western region.

“We are well positioned just minutes from the M1 motorway with estimated travelling times and distances to all eight towns significantly reduced,” he said.

Acknowledging the vital role of collaborative partnership with key stakeholders in delivering the project, Mr. O’Malley also welcomed the opportunity to update the invited guests on the milestones achieved in recent months to extend the natural gas network in Mid Ulster and Co. Fermanagh.

Natural gas has been live in Strabane for the past 18 months and significant work is ongoing which will enable homes and businesses in the other seven towns to access natural gas as soon as possible.

Mark Ennis CBE, Chairman of SGN Natural Gas, who unveiled a plaque to officially open the new office, thanked the representatives from the key stakeholder organisations for attending and congratulated the entire project team on progress achieved to date.
