Gas to the West is a major energy infrastructure project to extend natural gas to approximately 40,000 homes and businesses in the West of Northern Ireland. This significant gas network extension will bring the very considerable benefits of natural gas to the towns of Coalisland, Cookstown, Derrylin, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Magherafelt, Omagh and Strabane.
As a major infrastructure project, Gas to the West will require a diverse, robust supply chain. SGN Natural Gas hope to develop relationships with a network of local suppliers who can provide quality goods, works and services across Northern Ireland. The high pressure infrastructure will be constructed over the next few years, with the above towns’ distribution infrastructure being developed over the next forty years.
To facilitate these relationships, we are developing a specific web portal; a directory which will allow our buyers to find the right supplier. In turn, this will promote business opportunities all the way along the pipeline and across every sector of industry involved in this project.
SGN Natural Gas and Mutual Energy recognise that we have a significant role to play in contributing to the economic well-being and sustainable development of the communities we operate within. We are therefore committed to demonstrating exemplary levels of engagement with local suppliers. Quite simply, we want to be the best in Northern Ireland at engaging with local businesses and SME communities. This site will facilitate trade and engagement between SGN Natural Gas and local suppliers and service providers. It will provide a platform for us to promote opportunities originating in the region, and will give local suppliers the chance to get involved in this major project.
Currently there are no procurement opportunities.
