• Energy saving grants

    Funding from the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP) 2022-23 is available to help convert low-income households to natural gas central heating, including insulation and energy efficiency measures.

    Warm at Home Plus
    SGN Natural Gas’ Warm at Home Plus scheme offers *eligible households the chance to convert to a free fully funded natural gas heating system.  
     
    Additional fully funded energy efficiency measures are also available for the customer:
    • Loft insulation
    • Cavity wall insulation
    • 4 LED bulbs will be fitted for the householder
    • Hot water tank jacket
    • Smart heating controls
    • Eco Water Widgets
    • Draught proofing for wooden door frames and window
    • Endotherm heating additive as standard

    To qualify for this scheme householders must be able to demonstrate they are a low-income household within the SGN Natural Gas licensed network area and readily connectable. They must demonstrate they are owner occupiers with either no heating, LPG, solid fuel, Economy 7 or oil heating. Existing oil boilers must be deemed over 15 years old or broken beyond economic repair. 

    Households must be owner-occupiers that meet an income criteria of:
    • Single person household with income/pension less than £28,000 gross per annum.
    • Couple/single parent family with income/pension less than £35,000 gross per annum.

    Warm at Home Cashback
    SGN Natural Gas’ Warm at Home Cashback scheme offers *eligible households  50% off the cost of a natural gas heating system. The customer will be asked to contribute the remaining 50%.  
     
    This will be offered as a whole house solution, so in addition to the 50% grant towards the natural gas heating system, we will also offer fully funded insulation measures for loft and cavity wall (including ventilation costs), and 4 LED Bulbs will be fitted for the householder (if required), at no additional cost to the customer.

    Additional part funded energy efficiency measures will also be offered to the customer at 50% of the cost:
    • Hot water tank jacket (if required);
    • Smart heating controls (if required);
    • Eco Water Widgets (if required);
    • Draught proofing for wooden door frames and window (if required);
    • Endotherm heating additive as standard

They must demonstrate they are private renting tenants or owner-occupiers with either no heating, LPG, solid fuel, Economy 7 or oil heating. Existing oil boilers must be deemed over 15 years old or broken beyond economic repair.  

    Households must be private renting tenants or owner-occupiers that meet an income criteria of:
    • Single person household with income/pension less than £35,000 gross per annum.
    • Couple/single parent family with income/pension less than £40,000 gross per annum.
