Is your old boiler past its best? This is the ideal time to convert to natural gas and help is at hand!
The Boiler Replacement Allowance helps owner-occupiers to improve the energy efficiency of their home and make significant savings.
The scheme is open to owner-occupiers whose household income is less than £40,000 and who have a boiler that is at least 15 years old. The allowance does not apply to Economy 7 heating, stoves used only for cooking, back boilers or room heaters.
The grant of up to £1,000 is dependent on total gross annual income and is available to help with replacing an inefficient boiler with a more energy efficient condensing gas boiler.
For those earning less than £20,000, the grant is £700 to replace the boiler but will rise to £1,000 if controls are also being installed.
For those earning over £20,000 but less than £40,000, the grant is £400 for the boiler but will rise to £500 if controls are installed.
The Boiler Replacement Allowance is administered by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive on behalf of the Department for Communities.
